We are looking for a full-time, experienced and self-motivated Sr. Product Manager, Automotive  to join our Marketing Team to lead the design, implementation and monitoring of business programs and initiatives to support business segment growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the subject matter expert on towing and trailer categories such as, but not limited to structural hardware, coupling and connection components, electrical, braking, and towing safety and performance.
  • Supports and executes segment growth strategies in collaboration with Finance, Sales, Global Supply, R&D, and all other functional areas.
  • Responsible for leading brand, channel and product marketing initiatives in support of the overall segment strategic plan. 
  • Conducts research and analysis on gaps in the towing and trailer market for safety, ease of use, and connectivity.
  • Maintains working knowledge on material finishes and compositions, and how they withstand everyday and extreme usage or conditions.
  • Leads detailed project execution (project management) for new product development and introduction working collaboratively with engineering, sales and supply chain associates
  • Ensures achievement of key milestones in project execution including product launch date, margin, and sales goals
  • Performs consumer research to gain insights into key value proposition drivers for towing and trailer solutions, while researching opportunities for new and innovative solutions. 
  • Conducts field research observing customer usage and identifying product failures and safety risks. 
  • Understand all standards and compliance aligned with the category.
  • Executes projects and key initiatives within targeted budget for sales, margin, direct costs for the assigned segment/line of business.
  • Analyzes and manages revenue, cost, and margin for segment/line of business.
  • Manages product innovation and project prioritization efforts.
  • Ensures that marketing and promotional strategies align with public relations.


The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Four-year college or university program certificate in marketing, business, or related discipline; and no less than 10 years of progressive management experience in marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the consumer goods industry with a mechanical aptitude and literacy in the towing and trailer market.
  • Master’s degree in business or marketing is preferred.
  • Have a mechanical aptitude and literacy in the towing and trailer market.
  • Solid project management experience related to new product introduction and a NPI milestone process.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to organize and lead cross functional teams to execute initiatives for new products, programs, trade, and promotional events.
