ABOUT SLATE

At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Slate is building a new standard for personalized, purposeful vehicle accessories. As Sr. Accessories Product Manager – Interior Accessories and Trim, you’ll own the product vision, roadmap, and business performance for Slate’s interior accessory and trim portfolio. Reporting directly to the Head of Accessories Product Management, you are customer-led in everything you do. Your primary responsibility is to translate customer needs and market insights into products that deliver real utility and foster deep brand connections through expression. You will also serve as a mentor and guide to more junior product managers on the team, helping elevate the craft across the accessories organization.

As a senior product manager, you will drive the end-to-end product lifecycle development across interior accessories and trim, with extensive creative partnership with our Design and Brand team. This is a senior individual contributor position with mentorship expectations and is expected to evolve with the category over time.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

• Define the category strategy and own the product roadmap for Interior Accessories and Trim—from market opportunity sizing and competitive positioning to line plan, including core items, special editions, and lifecycle management through product sunset.

• Use strategic and quantitative analysis to size opportunities, build business cases, assign specs, facilitate trade-off decision-making, and lead business execution.

• Own and manage the full Interior Accessories and Trim portfolio for revenue performance, margin targets, customer satisfaction, and company impact.

• Conduct market studies and keep Slate’s interior accessory and trim offering fresh and differentiated with our customer base.

• Champion and improve the product development process, establishing best practices and scalable frameworks as the accessories organization grows.

• Lead cross-functional collaboration across Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Brand, and Commercial teams to ensure Slate accessories are inspiring, on-time, and on budget.

• Seek, evaluate, and onboard suppliers and development partners that reflect Slate’s brand DNA and customer expectations, working with our purchasing team to establish a flexible supply chain.

• Partner with Brand and Legal teams to secure product licensing and reseller agreements where relevant to the category.

• Create presentations and documentation and present to cross-functional leadership. This includes product updates, business cases, and roadmap recommendations. We share the spotlight!

• Work with aftermarket and accessory companies to create new and interesting customer products that expand Slate’s interior accessories portfolio.

• Mentor and guide junior product managers on the team, sharing best practices for product development, vendor management, and business case construction.

• Travel to suppliers and Slate office sites (10–25% average) to support team and project work.

• Have a lot of fun working on a dynamic and engaging team with a seat at the table.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or equivalent. MS/MBA strongly preferred. Exceptional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

• 8+ years of experience in hardware product management, preferably in automotive/powersports accessories, interior trim, lifestyle accessories, or consumer product development.

• Experience working with aftermarket and accessory companies to create new and interesting customer products.

• Proven track record of taking physical products from concept to consumer, with strong project management, analytical, and communication skills. You will PM your own products and help elevate the work of others.

• Working knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and CMF (color, material, finish) for interior trim, hard and soft interior components preferred.

• Strong financial acumen: demonstrated ability to build business cases, own a category P&L, manage a line plan, and make data-driven investment decisions.

• Comfortable in start-up environments. You can roll up your sleeves to do the work while also building the playbooks, tools, and processes that help the broader team scale.

• A proactive “one company” teammate with a continuous improvement approach, equally comfortable with product details and business planning.

• Capability to work cross-functionally with partners, suppliers, and vendors, building strong relationships that produce positive results.

• An ability to be an effective brand representative and ambassador to the Slate community, both presenting the Slate vision and collecting input that leads to future accessories’ development
