What you will do:

This position is responsible for a product line/segment/family globally.  Represent this product line throughout the Global Chiller LOB and coordinate regular feedback from the Regional Product Directors. This position leads the Product Line activities globally in alignment with LOB strategies.  This person is recognized as a technical and business leader for assigned products within the company.  Provides leadership in product line management.  The Chiller Solutions product lines are applied globally and as such the product manager should be well versed in regional markets and product requirements.  This calls for continuous monitoring and communications with the Regional Product Directors to ensure the product line continuously meets assigned market requirements.  Ensure optimization of product line performance measured through realized margins and market share globally.

How you will do it:

  • Be the product champion, leading the growth, strategy and product life cycle management for water cooled centrifugal chillers.

  • Requires strong market understanding, customer engagement and close collaboration and accountability with key cross-functional constituents.

  • Maintaining and updating product roadmaps, product life cycle curves, setting engineering project priorities. Launching new products based on voice of customer, strategic pricing, market trends and regulations, delivering on key metrics such as on-growth, on-budget, on-time.

  • Developing product vision, business cases for new products or enhancements of existing products, and supporting capital appropriation requests, as part of the long-range planning process.

  • Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the water cooled centrifugal chiller space.

  • Tracking product performance and driving appropriate actions based on actuals vs. plan.

  • Enabling sales and service through improved sales tools and literature. Work closely with engineering/application engineering for custom quotes.

  • Representing Johnson Controls in industry associations and events, working closely with marketing and government relations team, providing thought leadership.

What you will need:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of BAS or HVAC related experience in product or program management, marketing, or sales.

  • Must have demonstrable business management skills in a product management environment and must be technically savvy, possessing strong knowledge of field and business practices relating to the identified products.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail.

  • Domestic and international travel is required 20% to 30% of the time.

Preferred:
  • MBA highly desired

  • Experience working with chillers
