Job Summary:

To manage a small, concise portfolio of key suppliers with a focus on promoting and profitably growing all applicable divisions (Industrial, Oil & Gas and Specialties) to meet Brenntag corporate goals as well as supplier target expectations.

Job Description:

  • Ensures safety is the first priority and that all activities are conducted in accordance with quality, health, safety and environmental management systems as well as corporate and local policies;
  • Manages an assigned group of suppliers on a national basis;
  • Participates with sales management in the setting of corporate sales objectives and provides prices and margin targets for assigned product lines in order to exceed margin quality targets;
  • Manages inventory of assigned products to achieve Specialties overall target for inventory turns as well as individual target for dead and extremely slow moving stock; 
  • Contributes and participates in the creation of strategic market plans and programs designed to achieve growth for the organization;
  • Develops and maintains effective and strategic relationships with key suppliers;
  • Provides technical field support to the sales organization and/or other members of the marketing, procurement, regulatory and operations team as required;
  • Ensures that business plans for identified focus industries are developed and implemented in a timely and effective manner;
  • Determines potential gaps in product portfolio and investigates possible vendor partners to fill these gaps.

Your Profile 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Business; Specialized courses covering target industries would be considered assets
  • Previous sales or product experience in the chemical distribution or related industry (2-5 years)
  • Superior presentation, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strategic business, marketing & pricing skills
