Corona Tools is looking for a Product Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting strategy, driving innovation, and overseeing the profitability of your assigned product categories. You will own the full product lifecycle—from conception to end-of-life—while collaborating cross-functionally across engineering, marketing, sales, operations, and external partners. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, strong business acumen, and hands-on execution to deliver impactful results.
This is a remote position, with preference given to candidates located in the Chicagoland area.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Ownership
- Manage a diverse portfolio of products spanning 300+ tools, optimizing product performance, and delivering value to our customers.
- Serve as the owner of the full product lifecycle, from ideation to discontinuation.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Product Roadmap aligned with company goals.
- Lead New Product Development (NPD) initiatives from concept through commercialization.
- Drive retail rollout strategies and manage new product placements at key accounts.
Packaging & Branding
- Oversee packaging and artwork updates, adhering to Visual Brand Language (VBL) standards.
- Ensure packaging communicates product value and aligns with brand identity.
Business Performance & Optimization
- Own category P&L and lead monthly Business Reviews to assess performance and identify opportunities.
- Track and report key performance metrics, including those for new product launches.
- Lead VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) productivity initiatives to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
Market & Customer Insights
- Conduct ongoing market research, competitive analysis, and customer insight gathering.
- Use data to inform product strategy, pricing, and innovation opportunities.
- Serve as the category expert and advocate for the customer.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with internal teams (Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance) and external stakeholders to drive initiatives forward.
- Support broader business projects and cross-category initiatives as needed.
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (MBA a plus).
- 3–5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in durable goods, tools, hardware, or consumer goods.
- Proven success managing product portfolios and launching new products.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen; P&L ownership experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Skilled at balancing strategic planning with tactical execution.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
