Description

SDS Arms, a fast-growing designer and importer of firearms, is looking to hire a Product Manager with experience developing and launching firearms, specifically shotguns and rifles. Based in Knoxville, TN, SDS Arms has been growing over 20% for the past few years by introducing commemorative, modern and tribute handguns and shotguns. The Product Manager will be responsible for our shotgun and rifle lines. The Product Manager will report to the Director of Product Management.

  

Core Responsibilities:

Managing the shotgun and rifle product lines

Identifying new and/or extension products to introduce

Building a business case to develop the product(s)

Developing the technical specifications for the product(s)

Working with internal and external design engineers to design the product(s)

Managing the product through the stage gates of development

Entering product information into the ERP system

Reviewing the growth and profitability of your responsible products

Recommending changes in sales and/or marketing to improve growth and performance and/or obsoleting

Testing firearms for functionality, endurance, accuracy and quality

Respond to customer service issues with your products

Visiting vendors in Turkey 2 to 3 times per year


Requirements

  

Core Requirements:

At least 3 years as a firearms product manager

Recent experience managing either shotguns or rifles

Significant experience with a Phase Gate product development process

Ability to work in Knoxville 

Ability to travel internationally multiple times per year

  

Other Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree ideally in engineering, manufacturing or business

3 years of recent product management experience

Significant experience developing and launching shotguns and rifles

MS Project and ERP systems in general

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong analytical and design skills 

Must be a “US Person” per ITAR 120.15
