The Deposit Product Manager is responsible for the development, management, and enhancement of consumer and commercial deposit products to meet member needs, ensure competitiveness, and align with the credit union's strategic objectives. This role adheres to SFCU’s product governance program and supports the team delivery of high-quality product documentation including recommendations, reviews, and organizational readiness.
Who YOU are:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 3 to 7+ years of experience in product development, product management, or the banking/financial services industry, with a strong understanding of consumer deposit products.
- Certifications: Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), Product Management, Treasury Professional credential, or industry related certification is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate product performance, financial metrics, and market trends; knowledge of data visualization and budgeting software is preferred.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills are essential for leading teams and articulating complex concepts to various stakeholders.
What YOU’LL do:
- Product Strategy and Management: Develop short- and long-term product plans and roadmaps, overseeing the entire product lifecycle from ideation to retirement. Early focus will be directed towards helping to develop a commercial deposit product set to help the credit union compete in the marketplace.
- Market and Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research and cost analysis to assess the competition, review product pricing, and stay updated on economic and regulatory developments.
- Financial Management and Reporting: Manage product profitability, including budgeting, forecasting deposit flows, fee income, and monitoring budget variances with the finance team. Assist the finance team with deposit-related imports, assumptions, and reporting associated with asset-liability management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME), helping to lead cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and effective delivery of products and features.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all products and processes comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and risk requirements.
- Member Experience and Support: Collaborate with frontline staff and marketing to ensure employees understand deposit products, support sales and training, and enhance product visibility and appeal to members.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors related to specific product areas, including contract negotiations and performance monitoring.
