As the P&L owner of your assigned Region, you are responsible for delivering financial results, launching new products, managing the d2d operations, and managing the regulatory environment. Each local market is unique, requiring the Product Manager’s judgment on how best to customize “franchise” approaches appropriately. You will work broadly between the Segment Leadership, Product Strategy, Legal/Compliance, and Advanced Analytics organizations to create and execute on critical initiatives.

Success in this role requires a strong understanding of the homeowners landscape, including: product design, pricing, and uw’ing techniques, marketplace trends, and regulatory considerations. Strong understanding of P&L fundamentals is critical, including CAT management metrics and how product design choices will impact P&L results.

Candidates must be self-motivated, able to work independently and able to demonstrate past success in fast-paced, analytical environments. Though this is an individual contributor role (with dedicated, dotted-lined analyst support), it is high visibility- you’ll have significant agency to influence MSI’s future, provide guidance to senior leadership, shape reinsurance strategies, and build consensus across the entirety of the MGA.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage P&L results within assigned Region; ensure rate adequacy and appropriate CAT exposure
  • Conceptualize and drive new initiatives to market in support of growth/profit goals
  • Build and launch new products to market, handling all necessary regulatory needs

  • Understand your local market extremely well; stay on top of relevant trends
  • Align and prioritize internal resources in collaboration with other growth services
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to help build others up & grow

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years P&C insurance expertise, with strong familiarity in E&S property product. Variety of experiences covering product design, P&L mgmt., rate-making & UW’ing, regulatory affairs
  • Entrepreneurial mindset- act as a thought-partner across the org to design new product entry strategies and work with agile IT teams to develop & launch solutions
  • Clear communication & interpersonal skills- ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, at all levels of an organization. Builds inclusive & engaging environments
  • Structured, analytic thinking- comfortable breaking down bigger concepts into component parts; ability to assess problems quantitatively, while quickly translating findings into actions
  • Adaptability- comfortable in a fast-past, remote-first environment and culture

Location:

  • Remote, with access to local Baldwin Group offices as desired
  • Travel occasionally for internal and external meetings
