This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Skylight. We are currently looking for a Staff/Principal Product Manager, Technical (HHS) in the United States.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of high-impact digital products for government services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including researchers, designers, engineers, and government partners—to define product vision, translate user needs into actionable roadmaps, and ensure delivery of solutions that improve public outcomes. The position requires strategic thinking, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to navigate complex bureaucratic environments while fostering collaboration. You will have the chance to influence product direction, mentor teams, and contribute to services that affect real people across communities.
· Lead cross-functional teams to build and ship products that deliver measurable impact for public services.
· Translate user and government partner needs into product strategy, vision, objectives, success metrics, roadmaps, and backlogs.
· Manage product scope, priorities, and release plans from concept through scalable solutions.
· Write, prioritize, and maintain user stories, ensuring alignment with overall product goals.
· Facilitate team ceremonies such as planning meetings, stakeholder syncs, and retrospectives.
· Collect and analyze data and feedback to inform product decisions and strategy adjustments.
· Collaborate with government partners to ensure compatibility with existing processes, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
· Support knowledge transfer and skills development within government teams to enable sustainable product adoption.
· Expertise in lean product principles, including minimum viable product (MVP) development, iterative delivery, and risk mitigation.
· Ability to define product strategy that prioritizes outcomes over features and aligns with long-term goals.
· Experience translating strategy into actionable product scope, roadmaps, and prioritized backlogs with validated user stories.
· Strong knowledge of human-centered design and its application to product direction.
· Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines, including engineering, design, research, and client teams.
· Skilled in managing stakeholders and clients to build trust, alignment, and healthy team environments.
· Familiarity with agile and lean software development methodologies and professional services environments.
· Passion for improving public outcomes through technology and a mindset aligned with organizational core values.
· Nice-to-have: prior experience in civic tech or remote-team environments.
· Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; some roles may require public trust or security clearance.
· Competitive salary based on seniority: Staff Product Manager ($170,000–$203,000), Principal Product Manager ($180,000–$230,000).
