Job Description

As a Senior Product Owner of Premier Retirement Income, you will be responsible for executing the vision, strategy, and delivery of digital experiences to help clients feel more confident about their retirement. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of the roadmap, effective prioritization of both strategic and core development opportunities, strong backlog ownership, and the implementation of change. You will develop and maintain a deep understanding of the service offering, manage feedback from our advisors and clients, and partner closely with our consultants and key stakeholders to define goals, and deliver changes that improve the outcomes the service offers our clients and advisors. The Senior Product Owner role provides day-to-day leadership of an agile product team by articulating the product vision and guiding the execution of the product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Drive the delivery of the product roadmap, including working with key SME stakeholders to manage development priorities of core service capabilities as well as overlaying strategic changes from leadership. 

  • Manage day to day execution of key development efforts, leading BAs, SMEs, cross commits and tech partners through the change lifecycle

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives through the agile development lifecycle, from requirements elicitation through build, test and implementation. 

  • Lead workstreams, from concept through delivery, of new capabilities to enhance the client and advisor experience, expand service capabilities, meet competitive evolution in the marketplace and improve quality

  • Collaborate with a cross organizational team on to deliver change, address issues and improve risk management.

  • Responsible for management of product functions including policies, advisor/client facing support materials and ensure ongoing reviews are done on a timely basis


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 7+ years of progressive work experience in Financial Services industry, preferably product development and or product management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Series 7 license

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Knowledge of Ameriprise advisory based product solutions

  • Experience with financial planning and retirement income

  • Experience working on projects in various roles (Project Manager, Business Analyst, subject matter expert, etc.)

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with or lead across the organization and at all levels to drive results.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven organizational skills, including managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Ability to think strategically, while being able to implement tactical plans.

  • Proficient skill level in Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Word

In-Office Collaboration

We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $93,400 - $128,400 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
