The Product Manager will lead one of the pods in the Risk Services Group, which is the group within the BNY Payments Enablement Enterprise Platform with the mandate to deliver easily accessible services to mitigate the impact of risk and fraud events across all payment rails and origins. The pod will have direct interaction and collaboration with our enterprise fraud program, so background and expertise in fraud strategies across various payment rails would be ideal.
The core mission of the Risk Services group is to: enable (internal and external) clients to create rules that help identify and block fraud and operator error; enable BNY to monitor, pause, and reject payments; access proprietary and third-party data to verify payment attributes; and identify anomalies with data science and artificial intelligence.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent
Domain Expertise
Strong knowledge of payment rails: wires, ACH, instant payments, and emerging networks.
Familiarity with integration and commercialization of API services
Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with focus on fraud mitigation
Experience with integrating third party API functions into proprietary rules-based services
Strong knowledge of fraud trends and recurring patterns of operational risk in payments landscape
Product Ownership & Agile Skills
Experience as a Product Manager in Agile/Scrum environments, with a solid grasp of Agile principles, ceremonies and backlog prioritization/management.
Ability to write clear and actionable user stories, define acceptance criteria, and manage a product backlog.
Expertise in design and execution of a product vision/strategy and 18-month roadmap
Technical & Analytical Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work cross-functionally across business and technical teams.
Soft Skills & Other Qualities
Strong communication and documentation skills — able to translate complex payment processes into business and technical requirements.
BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $127,000 and $220,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
