This role offers the chance to lead high-impact, mission-driven product initiatives focused on transforming complex systems for the public good. You will own strategy and execution for key product lines, collaborating closely with engineers, designers, and external stakeholders. The position requires translating ambiguous real-world challenges into user-centric solutions while balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution. Ideal candidates are creative, high-agency product leaders who thrive in resource-constrained environments, embrace collaboration, and are passionate about building equitable and effective software solutions.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will:
· Lead strategy and execution for one or more flagship product lines, from concept through deployment and iteration.
· Translate ambiguous needs into clear, user-centered product decisions in collaboration with engineers, designers, and external partners.
· Drive product discovery through research, interviews, workflow mapping, and hypothesis testing.
· Define key metrics, track outcomes, and communicate impact to internal and external stakeholders.
· Foster a strong product culture rooted in curiosity, clarity, and urgency.
· Roll up your sleeves to contribute across projects in a fast-moving, mission-driven environment.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
· 5+ years of experience in product management for user-facing software.
· Strong product sense, strategic intuition, and attention to detail.
· Ability to lead through ambiguity and make decisions with imperfect data.
· Proven skills collaborating with complex stakeholders with empathy and clarity.
· Technical fluency to work effectively with engineers and understand tradeoffs.
· Passion for improving equitable outcomes and transforming complex systems.
· Willingness to travel 10–25% domestically (1–3 trips per quarter).
· Preferred: experience in government, health, criminal justice, civic tech, or startup environments; storytelling skills for team motivation and stakeholder alignment; lived experience in corrections or related systems.
You can expect:
· $155,000 annual compensation (non-negotiable, standardized by role).
· 90% coverage for medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents.
· Flexible time off: 20 PTO days, 3 paid volunteer days, 13 paid holidays.
· 401(k) retirement plan with 5% company match and no vesting period.
· 12 weeks of paid parental leave.
· Complimentary One Medical membership (location-dependent).
· Fertility, family-forming, and hormonal health benefits via Carrot.
· Monthly wellness credit via ClassPass.
· Free mental health support through Talkspace.
· Remote work flexibility with offices in Oakland and Manhattan.
· Participation in annual company offsite and other team gatherings.
· A mission-driven culture combining nonprofit impact with startup agility.
