In this highly strategic role, you’ll serve as the domain expert for commercial insurance products, leading complex initiatives across underwriting, pricing, compliance, and product development. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence senior leadership, and use advanced analytics and regulatory knowledge to strengthen performance and scalability. Accountabilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for commercial insurance products, including workers’ compensation, general liability, and commercial auto.
- Lead complex initiatives across underwriting, pricing strategy, risk assessment, product performance, and compliance across multiple states.
- Manage key relationships with regulatory bodies, reinsurance partners, and internal stakeholders, presenting insights and product recommendations to senior leadership.
- Analyze product mix, quote-to-bind ratios, loss ratios, and other key metrics to drive profitable growth.
- Develop and enhance automated underwriting tools and collaborate with technology teams to integrate policy systems and third-party data sources.
- Own the process for rate, rule, and form changes; oversee filings and ensure multi-state regulatory compliance.
- Mentor team members and share knowledge across departments to elevate understanding of commercial insurance fundamentals.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree required; CPCU or CIC certification preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience in insurance, with 4+ years specifically in product management.
- Deep expertise in commercial insurance lines, particularly commercial auto, and a proven track record in underwriting and product development.
- High-level proficiency in Excel for data analysis; experience with SQL and Snowflake preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate market opportunities and execute strategic initiatives.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance across multiple states.
- Skilled at influencing cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels, with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with high autonomy and complexity.
