Responsibilities

The Product Manager is responsible for driving innovation and continuous improvement and will lead the execution of product backlogs and their corresponding portfolio roadmaps. The role supports multiple products by working with all levels of the organization to help develop a combined strategy that integrates Strategic Priorities, Product Strategy & Planning, Technical Debt Management, and Human Capital Strategy & Planning. This leader must be able to work various business groups, in their area of responsibility, to help establish strategic planning. This individual is also expected to be the subject matter expert and will take ownership of the delivery of their assigned strategies for GM Financial.

 

In this role you will:

  • Understand and evangelize the vision, strategic priorities and goals of the organization, translating them into a roadmap of features and enhancements that provide remarkable customer experiences

  • Lead the execution of roadmap aligned to business objectives, customer needs, and enterprise priorities. This includes making trade‑off decisions and sequencing work for maximum impact

  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and other influencers who contribute to the definition and ongoing support strategies through stewardship, influence, motivation and change leadership

  • Lead the high-level prioritization of initiatives, aligning experiences across channels and touchpoints to ensure the best business results, and establishing measures of success

  • Lead and nurture a team of direct and/or indirect team members charged with implementing the product roadmap

  • Continually monitor competitors and industry developments

  • Identify and analyze problems and opportunities by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information

     

 

What makes you an ideal candidate?

  • Proven experience and knowledge of product management, software product lifecycle, road mapping, and SCRUM/Agile methodologies

  • Experience working within a matrix organization and collaborating with business stakeholders, user experience teams, project managers, developers, etc.

  • A proven track record of project execution and completing strategic initiatives on time and on budget

  • Extensive knowledge of market research methods, drivers and trends that have an impact on the business

  • Ability to dive into performance measurements with teams to help optimize and find key insights into performance

  • Capable of acting as a liaison by relating business issues to internal and external ITS partners, and relating technology solutions to business customers

  • Ability to build consensus, use active listening skills, and to work harmoniously with others in getting the job done while promoting a culture of teamwork, excellence, and integrity

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously



Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 6-8 years of experience as a Product Owner/Manager on an Agile Scrum team required
  • 2-4 years of leadership experience required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or additional equivalent experience required

 

Certifications and Licenses

  • Agile Certifications required
