THE ROLE
We're seeking a Senior Product Manager to own product strategy and execution for our Platform Services - the foundational infrastructure and shared capabilities that power our entire GRC portfolio serving 5,000+ financial institutions. This role exists because as we evolve from point solutions to an integrated AI-native platform, we need world-class platform services that enable faster feature delivery, better user experiences, and seamless integration across our product ecosystem.
You'll define and build the platform capabilities that other product teams depend on - authentication, APIs, integrations, data models, AI infrastructure, and core services that create leverage across the organization. Your work will directly impact every product we ship and every customer we serve.
This is a hands-on IC role focused on platform product management (70%) with strategic partnership across engineering and product teams (30%). You'll work across all product lines - GRC, vendor management, audit, and beyond - partnering with Platform Engineering to build scalable, shared services while collaborating with product managers, architects, and engineering leaders throughout the organization.
WHAT YOU OWN
Core Responsibilities
Product Discovery & Definition (70%)
- Own the platform services roadmap, prioritizing investments that maximize leverage across all product lines and accelerate feature delivery organization-wide
- Define platform capabilities including APIs, integration frameworks, authentication/authorization, data services, AI infrastructure, and shared UI components
- Partner with product managers across all Ncontracts products to understand their needs and translate them into reusable platform capabilities
- Write comprehensive technical specifications, API designs, and platform documentation that give Engineering clear direction
- Drive platform architecture decisions in collaboration with Engineering leadership, balancing scalability, performance, security, and developer experience
- Define platform adoption metrics and success criteria; track usage by internal teams and measure impact on development velocity
- Lead customer discovery with enterprise clients to understand integration requirements, API needs, and platform expectations
- Conduct competitive analysis of platform capabilities across GRC and enterprise SaaS vendors
- Champion platform-first thinking across the organization, building awareness of platform capabilities and driving adoption
Cross-Functional Partnership & Enablement (30%)
- Partner with product managers across all product lines to understand their platform needs and ensure platform services enable their product roadmaps
- Collaborate with Engineering leadership on technical strategy, architecture decisions, and infrastructure investments
- Work with Solutions Engineering and Customer Success to understand enterprise integration requirements and API use cases
- Create internal developer documentation, guides, and enablement materials for platform services
- Present platform roadmap and capabilities to internal stakeholders and technical audiences
- Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure platform services meet regulatory and security requirements
- Support Sales Engineering with platform capabilities, API documentation, and integration demonstrations for enterprise prospects
- Build relationships with technology partners and ISVs to define integration requirements and opportunities
Key Objectives
- Build Platform Leverage - Create reusable capabilities that accelerate feature delivery across all products. Success means faster time-to-market for product teams and reduced engineering redundancy.
- Enable Ecosystem Growth - Design APIs and integration frameworks that support customer integrations, partner ecosystems, and third-party developers. Create platform capabilities that drive competitive advantage.
- Drive Platform Adoption - Ensure internal product teams leverage platform services effectively. Build developer experience and documentation that makes platform capabilities easy to discover and use.
- Scale the Infrastructure - Define platform capabilities that support our growth from 4,000 to 10,000+ customers while maintaining performance, security, and reliability across all product lines.
WHAT YOU BRING
Required Experience & Attributes
- 5+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, with at least 2+ years focused on platform, infrastructure, or developer products
- Proven track record building platform services, APIs, or developer tools that enabled other teams or external developers
- Strong technical depth with ability to engage in architecture discussions and understand system design trade-offs
- Experience defining API strategies and designing RESTful APIs or other integration frameworks
- Demonstrated success working with platform engineering teams in complex technical environments
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure, microservices architecture, and modern SaaS platform patterns
- Experience with platform adoption metrics and measuring developer productivity
- Outstanding communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and business concepts for technical audiences
What Makes You Successful (Experience Level Agnostic)
- Technical Product Thinker - You understand architecture, APIs, and infrastructure well enough to make informed product decisions. You speak the language of engineers but think like a product manager.
- Platform-First Mindset - You naturally think about reusability, leverage, and building capabilities that create compounding value. You get excited about infrastructure that enables others.
- Developer Empathy - You understand what makes platform services great from the perspective of the internal teams and external developers who use them. You obsess over developer experience.
- Strategic Yet Pragmatic - You balance long-term platform vision with near-term delivery needs. You know when to build the perfect solution versus the pragmatic one.
- Influence Without Authority - You drive adoption through great products and relationships, not mandates. Product teams want to use your platform because it makes their lives easier.
- Systems Thinker - You see how pieces fit together across the product portfolio and anticipate downstream impacts of platform decisions.
Ideal Profile Additions
- Experience building AI/ML infrastructure or platforms that enable AI-powered features
- Background in API products, developer platforms, or platform-as-a-service offerings
- Experience with integration platforms, iPaaS solutions, or middleware
- Understanding of enterprise authentication, authorization, and security frameworks (SSO, SAML, OAuth, RBAC)
- Exposure to financial services technology or highly regulated industries
- Experience with open API standards, webhooks, and event-driven architectures
- Technical background (engineering, computer science) or formal training in software development
What Sets This Role Apart
This is a rare opportunity to build the platform foundation for a rapidly growing GRC software company serving thousands of financial institutions. As we consolidate our product portfolio and build AI-native capabilities, you'll define the infrastructure that enables our entire product strategy. You'll work across all product lines - not just one domain - giving you broad visibility and impact across the organization. You'll have the autonomy to shape platform architecture while working with talented engineering teams and product leaders. For someone who loves infrastructure, APIs, and enabling other builders, this role offers exceptional technical scope and organizational impact.
