Our client is a fast-growing consumer marketplace startup transforming the $10B+ collectibles market through an innovative barter trading platform. Instead of traditional buy-and-sell transactions, they’ve built a thriving swap economy—empowering collectors to trade valuable sports cards and other collectibles directly with one another.
In just three years, the company has facilitated $120M+ in transactions, experienced 3x growth in 2024, and now serves 100,000+ active users. With the trading card industry at an all-time high (over $400M in monthly sales as of August 2025), this is an exciting time to join a mission-driven team redefining how collectors connect, trade, and build community.
The team consists of 18 people (8 engineers and 10 operators), led by experienced founders with deep roots in product and marketplace innovation.
As a Founding Product Manager, you’ll work directly with the founding team to shape the product roadmap, define user experiences, and lead the execution of high-impact features for a rapidly growing user base.
Your responsibilities will include:
Partnering with the founders to prioritize product initiatives and decide what to build next.
Writing detailed product documentation and communicating feature requirements clearly to design and engineering teams.
Analyzing feature performance post-launch to inform product iteration and future improvements.
Leading end-to-end product development cycles for new features — from concept to release.
Bringing a data-driven mindset to improve user growth, retention, and engagement loops.
Rolling up your sleeves to handle both strategic and operational product work — from defining vaulting and logistics flows to optimizing in-app experiences.
Example projects might include:
Designing and refining a vaulting and logistics feature to track card shipments.
Building clear and transparent ways for users to see where their packages are in transit.
Launching new trading and social features that strengthen collector engagement and trust.
We’re looking for a consumer product manager who thrives in fast-paced, early-stage environments and loves building delightful, mobile-first user experiences.
You should have:
3–8 years of experience in user-facing B2C product roles.
A track record of working at high-growth consumer startups or marketplaces.
Experience shipping mobile-first products with strong attention to user experience and retention metrics.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a scientific, data-driven mindset (unit economics, growth loops, retention analysis).
Comfort with some level of technical understanding or light coding ability.
A collaborative, no-ego approach — you’re hands-on and comfortable tackling both glamorous and gritty product challenges.
Background in consulting (MBB) with 0.5–2 years of PM experience post-consulting.
Passion for or familiarity with collectibles, trading cards, Pokémon, or hobbyist culture.
Experience in marketplaces, consumer fintech, social platforms, or other high-velocity mobile consumer products.
Degree from a top-tier university (STEM or economics preferred but not required).
Base Salary: $120,000 – $160,000
Equity: Competitive early-stage equity package
Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
Work Environment: Primarily remote, with optional in-person collaboration in the Bay Area
Impact: Join as an early product hire to shape the roadmap of a fast-growing marketplace that’s redefining commerce in collectibles
