The OCI Product Management and Customer Engineering team is leading the product vision, incubation, and initial development of products and cloud services with scope across the entire OCI platform.
The OCI Market Intelligence Specialist is a strategic and analytical role responsible for gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing market data to inform and influence the strategic direction, product roadmap, sales execution, and go-to-market (GTM) strategy for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of key OCI competitors (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) across all layers of the cloud stack (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Monitor competitor product launches, pricing changes, GTM strategies, and organizational shifts to assess their impact on OCI's market position.
- Develop and maintain competitive profiles, battlecards, and teardowns for internal sales, product management, and executive teams.
- Market Trend Identification:
- Track and analyze macro-level cloud computing market trends, including technology adoption (e.g., AI/ML, Serverless, Edge), emerging use cases, and geographical market dynamics.
- Identify potential market opportunities and threats that could influence OCI's long-term strategy.
- Data Synthesis & Reporting:
- Gather and interpret data from various sources, including analyst reports (Gartner, IDC), customer surveys, financial disclosures, and internal business intelligence tools (e.g., Oracle Analytics Cloud).
- Create actionable market intelligence reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations that clearly communicate findings and strategic recommendations.
- Strategic Collaboration:
- Partner closely with Product Management to inform feature prioritization and product positioning based on market demand and competitive gaps.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to equip them with the insights and tools necessary to win deals against competitors.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for market and competitive insights in strategic planning sessions.
- Customer & Partner Insights:
- Analyze customer adoption patterns, spending habits on OCI, and reasons for choosing (or leaving) the platform.
- Evaluate the ecosystem of cloud partners (ISVs, SIs) and their strategic alignment with OCI's market vision.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Market Intelligence, Competitive Intelligence, Strategy Consulting, or Business Analysis, with at least 3 years focused specifically on the cloud computing or enterprise technology sector.
- Technical Acumen:
- Deep understanding of Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS and PaaS) concepts and the offerings of major cloud providers (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and deductive reasoning skills, with the ability to translate complex, disparate data into clear, concise, and strategic business recommendations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex topics to senior executive audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in conducting primary research, such as customer interviews or win/loss analysis.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex, time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
