The Principal Product Manager for Personal Safety will lead the strategy and execution of life-saving features within a critical platform that safeguards people during emergencies. This role combines strategic vision, technical depth, and customer empathy to deliver personal safety solutions, including devices, mobile SOS functionality, location awareness, badging, and access control integrations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage hardware/software partnerships, and ensure that products meet the needs of global enterprises, public safety organizations, and at-risk individuals. This position provides the opportunity to drive innovation at the intersection of software, hardware, and user experience, while delivering measurable impact and mentoring product teams.
Accountabilities
- Define and own the product vision and strategy for personal safety and life safety features.
- Drive innovation across mobile SOS, location-based safety, access control, and device integrations.
- Manage end-to-end lifecycle of personal safety devices, mobile apps, badging, and location-aware features.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, sales, and customer success teams to ensure cohesive solution delivery.
- Lead dedicated scrum teams and coordinate with hardware and service providers for integrated safety solutions.
- Make informed trade-off decisions balancing business goals, customer needs, and technical priorities.
- Utilize analytics and customer insights to measure adoption, optimize response effectiveness, and refine product-market fit.
- Communicate strategies, roadmaps, and results to executive leadership and influence organizational priorities.
Requirements- 7+ years of product management experience, preferably at a senior level.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Experience with hardware/software integrations, personal safety devices, wearables, IoT, and location technologies.
- Familiarity with critical event management and emergency response solutions.
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional product initiatives.
- Strong business acumen and ability to link product strategy to measurable business outcomes.
- Experience leveraging AI tools for product discovery, ideation, or execution.
- Comfort with prototyping, user research, and applying data-driven insights to product decisions.
- Proficiency in product management frameworks and tools (Agile, Lean, OKRs).
- Advanced analytical skills with SQL, BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), and experimentation.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation abilities.
