The Role

We're seeking out a Santa Barbara based Product Manager to structure and execute on an ambitious product roadmap that positions Pearly as the key payments layer in the dental industry.

Since its founding, Pearly has had a deeply product-oriented culture in terms of both leadership and engineering functions, reaching a position where we have strong market fit and a large, sophisticated customer base.

As our first Product hire, you will be working closely with our CEO, CTO, and Engineering Team in order to deliver best-in-class product and platform capabilities. You will own the roadmap and have responsibilities across feature prioritization, UX/specification, product marketing, and project management. This is a highly cross-functional role, where you will be acting in a connective capacity across leadership, customer teams, and engineering.

What You'll Do

  • Ship the Roadmap: Take our roadmap and product vision and translate them into concrete goals and projects that can be implemented by engineering, validated by internal stakeholders, and valued by our customers.

  • Drive Product Execution: Establish velocity by prioritizing the backlog and organizing clear and actionable specs and mockups, wearing multiple hats to keep cross-functional teams aligned and moving quickly.

  • Communicate the Product: Broadcast product capabilities across both internal and external channels, making sure sales and CS know how to pitch and support new features, and that existing customers understand and can leverage our full platform.

  • Build the path forward: You'll be entrusted to design today what we need for tomorrow - we believe in creating generalized features that anticipate future needs as a core product principle.

Qualifications

  • 2+ Years Shipping to Prod. You have a strong understanding of how products are composed to deliver value to customers, along with the requirements and stakes involved in shipping live systems.  You have excellent organizational skills and the attention to detail necessary to operate in a security and accuracy sensitive domain.

  • Exceptional Communicator.  You excel at communicating complex information clearly and effectively across multiple stakeholder types and to external customers & partners.

  • Command of Technical Material. You are curious about and exhibit an intuitive understanding of technical systems. While coding knowledge is not necessary, familiarity with the fundamentals of databases, servers, and clients is key.

  • Willing to Roll Up Your Sleeves. Taking the initiative is second nature to you.  You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, take projects to the finish line, and own the outcome.

  • Based in Santa Barbara, CA. You will work at Pearly's office in downtown Santa Barbara, California, with the opportunity to periodically work remotely.
