On-site

$120,000 - $250,000 USD yearly

About the Role

A fast-growing, early-stage open-source MLOps infrastructure company is hiring a GTM Engineer to own its entire US presence and community from the ground up. This is a solo outpost role based in San Francisco, reporting directly to founding leadership. You'll be the connector, the voice, and the person who turns authentic technical conversations into a traceable pipeline β€” building the company into a recognized name in the SF AI-infra scene through events, community, and credible technical evangelism.

The company builds the infrastructure layer for ML and AI pipelines, offering an open-source platform for orchestrating production ML workflows and AI agent evaluation across any cloud or tooling environment.

What You'll Do

  • Own and run the SF developer community from zero β€” host a bi-weekly meetup series that becomes a must-attend for the ML-infra crowd.

  • Work AI-infra meetups, hackathons, and conferences across the Valley to build a visible personal brand and technical network.

  • Be the connector: know everyone, introduce them to each other, and turn relationships into community momentum.

  • Evangelize credibly through talks, blog posts, social content, and short demo videos grounded in real community insight.

  • Demo a Python-based open-source framework live to technical audiences, hold your own with ML engineers, and answer real code-level questions.

  • Instrument community and product signals (Mixpanel, GitHub, CRM, enrichment tools like Clay) into automated flows β€” enrichment, scoring, follow-up β€” so every conversation becomes a traceable pipeline.

  • Be the eyes and ears in the Valley: surface what engineers are building, what frustrates them, and who's evaluating what β€” feeding insights directly back to product and GTM teams.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 1–3+ years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer-facing GTM β€” you've run this motion before and know what works.

  • Demonstrated experience hosting technical events and converting attendee engagement into measurable business outcomes.

  • Technical enough to demo a Python framework live, read code, work with APIs, and communicate with ML engineers β€” you don't need to be a full engineer, but you need the credibility.

  • Experience building and scaling developer communities or technical events from zero, with a track record of growing attendance and engagement.

  • Proficiency with modern GTM stack tools: CRM platforms, data enrichment tools (Clay or similar), API integrations, and basic automation workflows.

  • Experience measuring community and event initiatives using product analytics (Mixpanel or similar), GitHub signals, and CRM data to track pipeline and ROI.

  • Ability to create and distribute technical content (blog posts, demo videos, social) that resonates with developer audiences.

  • Track record of turning manual, one-off community activities into repeatable, scalable, measurable systems.

  • Experience in early-stage or scrappy startup environments β€” not large enterprises.

  • Based in San Francisco or ready to relocate β€” this role is fully on-site and does not work remotely.

Nice to Have:

  • Existing network within the SF AI, ML infrastructure, or MLOps community.

  • Prior experience contributing to or building open-source communities; understanding of GitHub-native developer behaviors.

  • Familiarity with the MLOps, LLMOps, or agent infrastructure landscape.

  • Experience running product-led growth (PLG) or usage-based GTM motions.

  • Visible personal brand: public speaking, conference talks, or recognizable community presence.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $120,000 – $250,000 USD annually, depending on experience.

  • Direct access to founders and meaningful influence over US GTM strategy from day one.

  • High-ownership, high-autonomy role at an early-stage company with strong open-source traction.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
