Your Role: As an Associate Product Manager on the Personal Lines Property Design team you will support multiple personal lines product initiatives to drive profitable growth and customer satisfaction. Seeking ways to refine our processes and working to improve product performance and efficiency. You will also have the responsibility for project management, competitive intelligence, underwriting guidelines and controls, regulatory research, business requirements, and implementation throughout CSAA IG and Partner Clubs. You may own a smaller line of business, such as personal umbrella, and lead a variety of projects that span across property lines of business in your day-to-day work.
Your work:
Product Development and Management
Leads competitive analysis and drives understanding of market dynamics for multiple products, states, and or markets.
Acts as resource and expert on core technical and regulatory aspects of a line of business and/or the tools and techniques of Product Management.
Develops and maintains policies and guidelines which affect work, schedules, and budgets.
Monitors defects and partners with IT to manage defects to resolution.
Monitors product performance (e.g., mix of business and financials), helps develop/improve reporting, and manages up on key issues or emerging trends.
Proactively seeks opportunities to improve processes and partners across the company to develop and deploy solutions.
Champions our countrywide product vision.
Develops new product enhancements or guidelines based on knowledge of products, consumers, and competition.
Leads cross-functional projects.
Partners closely with Actuarial, State Management, Marketing, Operations and Legal to deliver modern products, competitive prices, and top tier experiences.
Strategic Innovation and Growth
Provides consulting and recommendations to senior management for future products.
Interacts directly with highest levels of management in the company.
Researches and prepares proposals for acquisition and retention strategies to achieve business objectives.
Research vendors and strategic partnerships to further innovation and expense management.
Market Execution
Develops, modifies, and executes policies and procedures.
Develops methodology and initiates changes to policies and guidelines which affect work, schedules, and budgets.
Establishes operational objectives, work plans.
Researches and proposes pricing structure and changes.
Develops and manages controls to ensure operational processes are working as expected.
Required Experience, Education and Skills
Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of professional analytical experience working with insurance products or consumer product/services.
In-depth knowledge of property product management, marketing strategy and principles, and strategic planning
Excellent business and technical writing skills (e.g., proposals, PowerPoint presentation, business requirements, Microsoft project, Suite Microsoft Office)
Extensive financial analysis experience - skilled in budgets, cost estimates, cost benefit analysis, and reporting
Expert knowledge in project management techniques and processes
Effective communication, presentation, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
Effective problem-solving skills.
What would make us excited about you?
Experience with by peril rating plans, personal umbrella underwriting, catastrophe risk management or related property insurance subject matters
Advanced degree in related field and/or CPCU designation
Proficiency in SAS, SQL, Python, Snowflake, Visual Basic, Power BI and various structured analysis and design techniques.
Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.)
Lives into cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.)
Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings
