Description

The Associate Product Manager reports to the Lead Product Manager for the Control and Interfaces business units, focusing on Controllers, I/O extenders, and related control hardware accessories. The position supports the day-to-day execution of the product roadmap, including data analysis, competitive research, feature releases, and cross-functional coordination. Being close to the details of their assigned product categories, this role is a critical input in defining the overall strategic direction for the Control & Interfaces business units. The Associate Product Manager’s work drives faster time-to-market, improves attach rates of products to projects, and strengthens margin through insight-driven decisions, all while keeping integrators’ workflows simple and profitable.

Job Duties

  • Assist in developing data-backed business cases for new products that close market gaps, enter new verticals, and grow customer share of wallet.
  • Track sell-through, attach-rate, and gross-margin trends; flags anomalies and surface insights for Lead PM, Finance, and Operations.
  • Gather voice-of-customer feedback through surveys, beta programs, and ride-alongs; summarize findings for roadmap grooming.
  • Maintain competitive-analysis matrices on pricing, features, and positioning; distribute regular snapshots to Sales, Marketing and Product to inform competitive market adjustments.
  • Coordinate new product creation and active portfolio management; including collateral & web updates, and lifecycle management activities with Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, and Operations.
  • Own timelines and communicates for assigned product delivery initiatives, documenting and elevating roadblocks, risks, and next steps necessary to execute on the product pipeline.
  • Support semi-annual strategic-planning sessions by preparing marketing data, customer insights, and financial models.
  • Uphold category brand guidelines and act as a knowledgeable internal source on Control hardware.
  • Demonstrate humility and a growth mindset when partnering with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Sales, Operations, Product, and related Support teams.

You Must Have

  • Experience in product management, project management, business analysis, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Power BI or comparable analytics tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting and leading conversations with cross-functional groups.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with building internal and external relationships
  • Proven track record of launching a new initiative, service, or product
  • Adept at pioneering new initiatives that require a new customer journey
  • Ability to think strategically and make decisions based on thorough research and analysis
  • Experience with developing and executing marketing programing

We Value

  • Exposure to smart-home, IoT, or consumer-electronics channels.
  • Experience with Agile or Stage-Gate product development processes.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of financial metrics such as gross margin, customer attachment rates, and top-line revenue trends.
